StreetCleaning ("we," "our," or "us") operates the StreetCleaning mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
We collect the following categories of information:
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a device identifier. Your email is used for account management, password resets, and optional marketing communications (only with your explicit opt-in consent).
Location Data. When you use the App to check parking status, we request your device's location to determine your current block. Location is requested on demand only and is not continuously tracked, stored on our servers, or shared with third parties. You can use the App without granting location permission by searching for an address manually.
Saved Blocks. When you save a block to your watchlist, we store the block reference and your notification preferences for that block.
Push Notification Tokens. If you enable push notifications, we store your Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token to deliver reminders about upcoming street cleaning on your saved blocks.
Usage & Analytics Data. We use Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics) to collect anonymous usage data such as app opens, features used, and notification interactions. This helps us understand how the App is used and improve the experience.
Advertising Data. We use Google AdMob to display ads. If you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) may be shared with ad networks for personalized advertising. You can deny this permission and the App will function identically — ATT consent is never required to use any feature.
The App uses the following third-party services that may process your data according to their own privacy policies:
Supabase — Database hosting and user authentication. Your account data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security ensuring that only you can access your own saved blocks and notification records.
Firebase Analytics (Google) — Anonymous usage analytics. Data is retained for 26 months per Google's default retention policy.
Google AdMob — Ad serving. AdMob may collect device information and, with your ATT consent, your IDFA for ad personalization.
Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — Delivery of push notifications to your device.
NYC Open Data — We read publicly available street cleaning schedules and suspension data from NYC Open Data. No user data is sent to this service.
Access. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us.
Deletion. Delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your email, saved blocks, notification preferences, and delivery records. The deletion takes effect immediately.
Marketing Opt-Out. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time through the Notification Preferences screen in Settings.
Push Notifications. You can disable push notifications through the App's settings or your device's notification settings.
Ad Tracking. You can change your ATT preference at any time through your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Location. You can revoke location permission at any time through your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security policies in our database ensuring data isolation between users, and token-based authentication for all API requests.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
